anyway, why is it called 'Battlefield Franchise'? it's not even a franchise as far I as can tell. also british people are confused on why americans seem to label a 'series' of something a 'franchise' (all the american football (soccer) teams are 'franchisees' of the MLS).

No they aren't... They are clubs, the same as in England and the rest of Europe.

One person who doesn't need any qualification putting something on wiki means nothing. Wiki is an unreliable source (tho useful for some things) and one person saying it once doesn't mean that what we call it... I'm sure there has been 1 person in England call a club a franchise.

See what happens if you quote Wiki in a real report . But that isn't even the point... The point is, one person called it franchise, not all of America. One isolated event doesn't mean anything.
