Hi, I'm new here, and found this link at the old EH website. I came here because this is the only website for Empires: Dawn of the Modern World stuff. I have some questions: 1. Why is EDMW like impossible to find? 2. Why is they official EDMW Website offline? (and has been for about 2 years) 3. I downloaded some mods, and they don't work. If someone would gladly help, I'll give more specific information. The mod was - Fight For Mother Russia: The Eastern Front. Thanks in advance. -Stryker

Hello! Welcome to the refugee forum! Please to post in the proper section of the forum (General). *moved*Anyways... 1.) Activision (the publisher) probably halted any further productions of the game. 2.) Stainless Steel Studios Incorporated (the developers) no longer exists after being bankrupted. The official site was hosted by the same company who hosted their main site (check here Empires DMW official site vs. SSSi) 3.) Where did you download this mod?

What's sad is that this is the only site for EDMW that I know of, yet we still have almost no one active here anymore.

I looked on that but it's practicly dead, very rarely do people post, and if they do it's usually on ee2 and the site owners given up on it, he says EE is the only good game of the empires series games. And that did come out about 6 years ago.

empires in my opinion, is way better than EE. I tried EE out after playing empires and i uninstalled it after one game

yes. EE is NOTHING compared to Empires. Empires is and will always be, my favourite epoch-based RTS game. You are welcomed to download my 5 scenarios aswell. They are hosted on this site and on this one: www.freewebs.com/mpsdownloads/empiresdotmw.htmThe second site is a link from an EE designing group's site I'm working for, but the scenarios are much easier to navigate between.

Rise and Fall was better than EE, IMO. Rise and Fall didn't have epochs or ages, though there was levelling up (obviously). Rise and Fall just failed much worse than Empires is less time. 2 months after release there is a smaller crowd for it than there is for Empires currently.

Rise and Fall? I played the demo and liked it, why did it fail so bad?

Well, you can't really blame Empire Earth the way it is. It's obviously old. But it paved a path for Empires. Imagine how Empires would turn out if EE hadn't been made.
As for Rise and Fall, it failed because Midway failed to see how much they would fail at building games (IMO, publishers should publish, not build games. Take another example on MoHPA built by EA Games). Rise and Fall had a potential, but the publisher wanted money ASAP, bankrupt the developers, and took the product into their own hands. Unfortunately, I heard they took an old buggy version and developed from there.

Foolish publishers. I like MoH: PA though. I wonder what people find so bad in it.

Soldier, you have everything correct. Several of the staff at Rise and Fall Heaven play tested the game and said there were bugs that were in early play testing that got elminated after later player testing that are still in the game. There was only 30 megs of patches, with the first patched released before the game even shipped. That first patch was 27 MB, so we were essentially given 3 MB worth of patches (the first one should have shipped).
