Yes, and you are using this forum help you. The forum can still be closed because of this.
Then remove it. That's how serious illegal transactions of games are, even if they are 'dead'.

Right, just because millions of others are getting away with terrorism in the middle east means that we should do it too!
And using that example, the scale of 'seriousness' remains the same.

Doing terroism is a insane thing that involves killing people and etc just downloading something illegal is diffrent.

You didn't get my point. You said 'millons use torrents and download stuff illegaly so it that way it isnt serious', should we join in just because millions of others are doing it?
Ok, I'll pick an example on a lighter vein. Just because there are millions of junkies out there, doesn't mean we should all do drugs as well, it is still serious.

I see where your coming from but the element of unseriousness lags in my mind as loads buy games anyway so they get money there and people can also enjoy the game by downloading its a win-win situation. This makes me think it is ok.
I will respect this forums wishes from now on though and if you agree to stop this arguement so will i as i dont think i will ever run out of excsues to why downloading of torrents is not such a bad thing.

I declare the argument over, though the thread can remain.

Did you say money? Who's going to get the money when someone purchases a product? And will they get money when people download the game free and illegally? A win-win situation is where all the stakeholders WIN, but in this case the publishers and developers aren't winning. Only a minimum amount, no a HANDFUL of buyers are needed before the game circulates around computers via illegal download and the hard working developers make a loss on the sales of games. Where will this lead to? Oh, videogame industry depression. No more videogames.
Whoops! At least I downloaded the games I could possibly ever want...?

The reason I very much dislike torrent and PirateBay and that whatnot is for the very reason Nachlader brought forward. The gaming undustry (in America at least) is on the teetering edge of collapse. Game shops make almost no money from new releases. Let's take EB Games for example. They pay around $40 for a game, and then sell it for $50. That's $10 profit. However, EB Games is required to carry all games, and thus carries many that end up unpopular. That means they have to sell four games for every one that isn't bought. The only thing keeping companies like this are used games, which they purchase for $5 and sell for $25, making a $20 profit. Used games are also more often bought that new games. However, with the rise of eBay, used games is starting to dwindle. And now mega companies like Walmart and BestBuy are dabbling in gaming. If Walmart were to begin buying and selling used games for a "fair" price, game stores would likely go out of business. Pirating shifts funds that would be keeping a game store afloat away, keeping them in the pocket of the consumer, which is bad for the economy because the economy depends on money to continue to flow, rather tyhan sit stagnantly in someone's pocket. In fact, the only pro of torrents is getting something for nothing, which is also a con, because it lowers the value of the dollar and teaches kids the incorrect lesson: that we should be getting something without giving something rather than playing fair.

You wouldn't be able to ban us anyway. Name one thing that's against the (mental) CoC in this thread, infact, DO name one thing that is against CoC in this thread. So you wouldn't be able to ban me at least (and Brandon being an admin, it'll kinda hard to ban him).

Because this is a conversation that I took interest in, I decided to countermand GoSailings order and take part. Had I thought the conversation inapropriate, I would have simply deleted the posts and closed off the thread.
Also, paragraphs require skills...damned paragraphs (this isn't a paragraph! I SWEAR!!)

lol I wasn't going to ban you. Even if you did something horrible I wouldn't, seeing as how one member is damn near half the community. I understand why you over-rid me, it was just a hard blow on my self esteem
